About The Position

East Penn Manufacturing is currently seeking an Industrial Battery Cleaner who is primarily responsible for communicating and working with maintenance mechanics, electric truck mechanics, and service technicians.

Requirements

• Electrical background preferred.
• Basic Reading skills.
• Basic Math skills (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying).
• Basic Computer Skills, including Word and Personal Computer (PC).
• Ability to troubleshoot and provide potential solutions for problems.
• Ability to evaluate and resolve discrepancies.
• Mechanical skills including hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to operate a torch.
• Knowledge of rigging and lifting.
• Basic understanding of AC and DC electricity.
• Good telephone skills and ability to communicate with co-workers.
• Has a DOT Medical Qualification Card.
• Some overnight stays are required.

Responsibilities

• Dealing with customer complaints and down equipment.
• Cleans, neutralizes, and repaints industrial batteries.
• Treats waste stream created by battery cleaning.
• Documents all services to wash system.
• Delivers and removes system to/from customer site.
• Performs maintenance on industrial batteries, including aspects such as resealing, cable replacement, and cell replacement.
• Uses electrical experience and knowledge to assist service technicians in repair of batteries and chargers.
• Works closely with Ind Service Technicians.
• Eventually responsible for handling all jobs alone.
• Maintains regular attendance.
• Ability to work mandatory over time.
• Performs other duties as requested.
• Responsible for producing a high quality product.
• Responsible for proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices.
