About The Position

This position serves as the Program Manager for the Adult Medicaid Team within the Medicaid Division and is responsible for providing administrative and technical leadership to ensure effective team operations. The Program Manager oversees income maintenance programs, including Long-Term Care and Private Living Arrangement Medicaid Programs, and directs the activities of program and functional unit supervisors who manage day-to-day operations within their respective areas. The role involves participating in community needs assessments, researching innovative programs, service delivery techniques, and developing strategic plans to address future community needs. Additionally, the Program Manager is responsible for implementing procedural and technological improvements to enhance service delivery. Candidates must have thorough knowledge of income maintenance programs, the use of income maintenance manuals, and awareness of agency and community services. Strong organizational and leadership skills are essential for managing large, comprehensive programs. The position requires considerable management and administrative ability, as well as the capacity to plan, evaluate, and improve services.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of income maintenance programs
  • Thorough knowledge of the use of the income maintenance manuals
  • Thorough knowledge of all agency and community services and programs.
  • Considerable ability to organize and direct large comprehensive income maintenance programs.
  • Considerable management and administrative skills.
  • Ability to plan and evaluate the services of large, comprehensive income maintenance programs.
  • Ability to represent the income maintenance programs in departmental and community meetings.
  • Ability to present information orally and in written form.
  • Current experience in NC FAST required.
  • Four years of experience in an income maintenance program including two years of supervisory experience in an income maintenance or service program.
  • Position requires obtaing NC FAST Certification upon hire within 90 days

Nice To Haves

  • In addition to the requirements previously stated, the ideal candidate would possess a four-year degree in a human services field, business or public administration and three years of experience in a supervisory or consultative capacity in an income maintenance program.
