About The Position

The Inclusive Engagement Program Assistant at Randolph-Macon College is a part-time, temporary role focused on supporting programming that enhances student success, particularly for First Generation Students. This position involves collaboration with the Inclusive Engagement team to create and facilitate initiatives that foster belonging, academic achievement, and personal growth among students. The role is grant-funded and requires approximately 10 hours of work per week from January to May 2025.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong interest or background in diversity, equity, and inclusion work, particularly related to student success for First Generation students.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a small team.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with event planning or programming is a plus.
  • Familiarity with higher education environments, particularly small liberal arts institutions, preferred.
  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of a higher education degree program is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of Inclusive Engagement programming, with a particular emphasis on First Generation Students.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to create workshops, events, and resources that support academic, social, and professional development for students.
  • Help evaluate program effectiveness by collecting feedback and assessing student engagement and success outcomes.
  • Support outreach efforts to engage and connect students with relevant resources and opportunities across campus.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts through social media, newsletters, and other platforms to promote events and initiatives.
