The position involves assisting teachers in preparing instructional materials and maintaining an orderly classroom environment tailored to student needs. Responsibilities include helping with inventory and maintenance of equipment, keeping administrative records, and providing orientation to substitute teachers. The role also requires assisting students with physical disabilities, personal care, and managing classroom behavior, including intervening in crisis situations. The assistant will work with individual students or small groups to develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher. Supervision of students throughout the school day, including during lunch and on the playground, is also a key responsibility.
