About The Position

The Inclusion Resource Teacher for Special Education is responsible for providing instruction to special education students, serving as a case manager, and implementing interventions. This position requires a valid LBS1 endorsement and a Professional Educators License in Special Education (PK-22). The teacher will utilize the approved Board of Education curriculum to enhance the intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth of students. The role is full-time, with a work calendar of 180 days, effective for the 2025-2026 school year.

Requirements

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) appropriate for grade level and academic area endorsement.
  • LBS1 Endorsement required.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction and interventions to special education students.
  • Serve as case manager for current and pending special education students.
  • Support administration in implementing district practices and programs.
  • Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation and lesson design.
  • Plan and implement the program of study within the established curriculum.
  • Meet and provide instruction to assigned classes at designated times.
  • Develop and maintain a conducive classroom environment for effective learning.
  • Establish clear instructional goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the selection of instructional materials and resources.
  • Employ multiple teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students.
  • Incorporate technology and media sources into the instructional framework.
  • Attend and participate in faculty and other required meetings.
  • Provide availability to meet with students and parents outside instructional hours.
  • Collaborate with staff in planning instructional methods and objectives.
  • Accept responsibility for co-curricular activities.
  • Evaluate student progress and communicate it to parents.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records.
  • Exhibit confidentiality regarding students, parents, and faculty.
  • Develop positive working relationships with administration, staff, students, and parents.
  • Engage in personal and professional growth through workshops and continuing education.
