About The Position

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with kids, lead exciting activities, and create a positive, nurturing environment where campers can grow, learn, and have an unforgettable summer Parkview Family YMCA is seeking a part-time Inclusion Counselor who is energetic and compassionate. The Inclusion Counselor will have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of children with additional needs, including emotional, behavioral, and physical.
Requirements
- Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne
- Minimum of 16 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Experience in the supervision of multiple children, including children with diverse abilities.
- Organized, detail-oriented, yet flexible.
- Comfortable communicating with parents and enjoy working with children.
- Positive, service-oriented attitude serving diverse groups of campers in regard to age, abilities, ethnicity, gender, race, economic status, religion, etc.
Responsibilities
- Connect: Have a warm, engaging, and friendly demeanor that is able to connect quickly with program participants and parents.
- Nurture: Show compassion and understanding of children with special needs.
- Lead: Lead fun, enriching activities for school-age children with special needs who are participating in summer day camp.
