About The Position

Under the supervisor of the Camp Coordinator, the inclusion aide / one-on-one is responsible for the supervised inclusion, of said child, into the Program, creating, organizing and displaying personal leadership in a wide variety of recreational activities.

Requirements

High School Diploma is preferred
Thorough knowledge of the specific activity preferred
Ability to teach in any given class situation
Must possess current First Aid, CPR and AED Certification

Nice To Haves

Previous experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Takes directions from the Site Supervisor, Site Coordinator, and Assistant Site Coordinator
Attends all staff and program meetings
Arrives on time and is prepared for the day’s activities
Reports absences in a timely manner
Shows interest in the days activities and encourages the same for said child
Is sensitive to the individual needs of said child
Will encourage positive behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and assisting with impulse control, this will be accomplished by the staff member being in close proximity and attentive of said child at all times
To assist the participant with increasing skills of self-expression.
To encourage socialization and interaction through participation in structured and spontaneous group activities.
To provide a safe non-threatening environment in which skill development can be achieved.
To encourage social independence and self-reliance.
To increase awareness of and encourage the development of new leisure activities.
To provide opportunities to increase self-confidence and self-esteem.
To provide opportunities to develop peer relationships.
Helps with housekeeping duties related to program operation as assigned.
