About The Position
Join VistAbility as an Inclusion Advocate in Antioch, CA, where you will play a vital role in empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since 1965, VistAbility has been dedicated to providing person-centered services across Contra Costa and Alameda Counties, fostering independence and social connections for those we serve. In this rewarding position, you will be a champion for individual growth, partnering with participants to help them achieve their unique goals through tailored community-based activities that align with their interests and aspirations. As an Inclusion Advocate, you will craft personalized pathways for each individual by developing, reviewing, and evaluating their program plans. You will track their progress and celebrate milestones along their journey, ensuring that they feel supported and valued. Building strong relationships with participants, families, and community partners will be essential as you foster a supportive network that contributes to their success. You will explore diverse opportunities together, from recreational activities like bowling and visiting parks to engaging in volunteer work and educational classes. Your role will also involve unlocking the social potential of individuals by supporting them in developing valuable social skills, navigating community interactions, and building meaningful connections. Additionally, you will assist participants with their medical and personal care needs as necessary, ensuring they receive the support they require to thrive in their daily lives.
