About The Position

The Incident Response Administrator plays a crucial role within NYU's Global Programs & University Life organization, specifically as a member of the Incident Response Team (IRT) under Residential Life and Housing Services (RLHS). This position is dedicated to providing immediate non-clinical crisis and critical incident response to residential students during night and weekend hours. The IRT operates seven nights a week, and the Incident Response Administrator is expected to work regular shifts from 5:00 PM to 2:45 AM, covering four shifts per week. This role requires the administrator to respond to incidents on-site, coordinating with various stakeholders including Resident Assistants (RAs), Counseling and Wellness Services, NYU Department of Public Safety, and external services such as NYPD and EMS. The administrator will assess incidents as they arise and provide consultation and support to RAs and other staff in non-critical incident response and conflict resolution. In addition to crisis response, the Incident Response Administrator is expected to contribute to a welcoming campus community that reflects the values of inclusion, diversity, belonging, equity, and accessibility. This commitment is essential in fostering a supportive environment for students, staff, and faculty. The role requires a proactive approach to managing incidents and ensuring the safety and well-being of residential students, particularly during challenging situations. The office sites for this position are located in both Manhattan and Brooklyn, emphasizing the need for flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
