About The Position

The Inbound Operations Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading a team that ensures efficient inbound operations, including unloading trailer deliveries and preparing merchandise for stocking on the sales floor. This role involves understanding sales goals, executing daily/weekly workloads, and providing a consistent experience for guests. The Team Leader will also be involved in training and developing team members, ensuring safety and compliance, and supporting guest services.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Understand sales goals and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals.
  • Lead and share expertise in operations, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations for team members and hold them accountable.
  • Utilize workload planning tools to complete all scheduled workload.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
  • Work a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs.
  • Assess backroom and sales floor areas to identify gaps and develop plans to resolve issues.
  • Enable a consistent experience for guests by ensuring product availability.
  • Assist in leading organizational and operational changes.
  • Build a team of experts through selection, onboarding, and ongoing training.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity and create equitable experiences.
  • Model and lead a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies.
  • Address store and offsite emergency and compliance needs.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier and order pick up.
  • Engage with guests and create a welcoming experience.
