As an Inbound Operations Manager, you will guide, direct and train personnel involved with the freight operations to obtain the most efficient, productive environment possible. You will also ensure quality results are achieved in areas of dock efficiency, Pickup & Delivery (P&D) cost, Linehaul Schedule, and delivery service and closeout times. Inspect warehouse facilities and equipment and recommends changes in allocation of space and crating procedures. Ensure that minimum dock efficiency results of 1% are achieved through an understanding of the Tommy Thompson System. Investigate customers' complaints involving matters such as damaged items, overcharges, and delay in shipment and make necessary adjustments. Meet daily Service Center deadlines such as outbound closeout times, P&D Schedule, Linehaul Schedule, and single system service schedule. Maintain a low claim ratio of less than .75. Work with P&D operations to ensure proper work load distribution in an effort to achieve a city cost of less than 1. Perform daily evaluations on operations results and notes improvements. Provide constant training to supervision to develop for future advancement training which includes: being cost effective, motivating and training employees, holding meetings, and methodical use of the corrective action system. Interview, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
