About the position

The candidate will be responsible for designing and executing in vivo studies in the fields of infectious diseases and vaccines. The job will involve work including designing & implementing animal models of pathogenic infection models in mice and vaccine immunogenicity studies in various animal species. Hands-on execution of in vivo studies involving infection, monitoring viremia, monitoring immune response and tissue collection. Proficiency in preparation and dosing of agents via multiple routes of administration (including IM, PO, IP, SC, IN, and IV). Evaluation and implementation of novel in vivo techniques and technologies. Detailed record keeping of all experimental information in electronic lab notebooks.

Responsibilities

  • Designing & implementing animal models of pathogenic infection models in mice and vaccine immunogenicity studies in various animal species.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in biological sciences, toxicology, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and experience working in a GMP environment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

  • Experience working on Biologics Release Testing in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience with rodent handling and injections via the intraperitoneal (IP) and intracranial (IC) routes, intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV), and subcutaneous (SQ) routes of administration observations.
  • Experience with rodent observations of physical signs, differentiating and understanding normal rodent behavior and behavior induced due to compound effect.
  • Experience with gross examinations and necropsy.
