About The Position

C.A. Carlin is looking for a full-time In-Store Retail Sales Specialist to service Hy-Vee Grocery Stores near Des Moines, IA. You will be responsible for selling, building relationships with store management, gaining/maintaining distribution within a variety of accounts as well as reporting tasks in a reporting system, with varied merchandising opportunities This is a position where you work independently, follow direction, and have excellent communication skills. Reliable transportation, clean driving records, valid driver’s license, and maintaining auto insurance are all required Location Hybrid- must be local to Des Moines, IA market - with half an admin day on Friday Afternoons from home At C.A. we are not looking for perfection, just people that want to commit to a us and grow their careers long-term. Requirements

  • Local to the Des Moines, IA area to service retailers
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance are all required
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • A clean driving record
  • Positive and professional attitude and appearance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
  • Microsoft Office Experience (Word, Excel, Email, and Internet Explorer)
  • Cell phone, printer, and computer with internet accessibility
  • May be subject to a background check

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Hy-Vee experience including working Part-time or Full-time for the grocery store chain or previous broker experience calling on them
  • A degree in business or business management

Responsibilities

  • Represent a diverse portfolio of national and regional brands, managing thousands of SKUs across 20+ Hy-Vee Stores with a strong focus on driving sales performance
  • Function as the primary liaison between store leadership and manufacturer partners to maximize shelf space, promotional execution, and distribution – directly contributing to sales growth
  • Pitch new products, secure incremental placement, adapt to quickly shifting business needs while consistently delivering sales objectives in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Utilize mobile technology to take photos, report findings, and complete tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Travel to and between store locations within the designated territory.
  • Must maintain a safe working environment while working in the stores
  • Must adhere to attendance and dress code guidelines
  • Must be able to perform physical activities, i.e., frequent standing , walking , bending , squatting , lifting , etc. throughout the workday
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Attend client kickoff video calls and team check-ins as required.
