About The Position

Lakeside Educational Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our In-School Counselor Program. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students' mental and emotional well-being in the William Penn School District - Penn Wood 9th Grade Academy School, helping them to identify and manage issues that may impact on their educational experience. This is a 24 hour/week position.
The Ninth Grade Academy incorporates an instructional model that bridges the middle-level program and traditional high school model.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or other related fields.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
• Knowledge of mental health issues and community resources.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in counseling or working with youth in an educational setting is preferred.
• Experience working within a school setting desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students to address mental and emotional challenges.
• Actively listen to students and ask insightful questions to help them understand their problems.
• Develop and implement strategies to assist students in improving their overall well-being and academic performance.
• Work with families to provide support and resources as needed.
