About The Position

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley is seeking candidates with food and beverage experience for the position of In-Room Dining Server. This person will bring the dining experience to the guest’s room, providing attentive, exceptional, and anticipatory service. The role requires knowledge of the menu and preparation methods, as well as the ability to attend to guest needs and requests with a sense of urgency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Napa Valley and surrounding areas, highly desirable, however not required.
  • Preferred experience in a luxury hotel in food and beverage or related work.
  • Must be flexible with schedule - Able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, evening/overnight shifts.
  • Strong written and oral skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and accurately.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Check completed kitchen orders with the order taker or guest’s original order and deliver food orders including any special needs or requests to the guest in-room.
  • Transport items to the guestroom in a timely manner while ensuring proper food quality using a Resort golf cart.
  • Greet guests by name, describe selected items to the guest using interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item, origin, taste, and preparation methods.
  • Communicate options for removal of trays and dishware; respond to request for tray removal according to established time standards.
  • Breakdown, clean and set-up of room service tables, condiment set-ups, flatware, dishware, and room service side stations.
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Properly and accurately close guest checks securing room number and signature; properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals.
  • Take guest orders in the absence of order taker.
  • Plate and prepare small food items.
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management.
  • Assist with service of food items.
  • Assist with set-up and cleaning of operational areas.
  • Assist with responsibilities and duties in the absence of or due to heavy volume in areas of Food & Beverage when needed.
  • Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
