About The Position

Be a part of the pre-opening team for the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel! Opening Fall 2025, the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel will also have over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views. To provide exemplary service all guests according to Omni standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year serving experience
  • Must acquire TIPS and ServSafe certifications
  • Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines
  • Previous cash handling experience required
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Omni rules, policies, procedures, and standards
  • Greet guests by utilizing the All-In impression standards set forth by Omni
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards as directed by leadership
  • Suggestively sell items and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections
  • Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests
  • Record transaction in MICROS system in a timely manner
  • Adhere to cash handling standards
  • Ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage
  • Present accurate check to guest and process payment
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
  • Station set-up and breakdown/side-work
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership
  • Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained
