About The Position

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking an In-Room Dining Order Taker to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. The In-Room Dining Order Taker will be responsible for taking guest orders through the phone and in-person as needed while possessing detailed knowledge of food and beverage items on the menu and upsell guest on additional items appropriately.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field
• 1-3 years of restaurant experience
• Ability to listen effectively and multitask, strong attention to detail a must
• Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required

Responsibilities

• Be familiar with all standards of performance excellence and adhere to these standards throughout our guests' experience
• Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
• Ensure correct posting in POS system for communication to the service and kitchen department
• Help maintain cleanliness of work and guest areas by clearing, collecting and returning food and beverage items to proper area
• Complete closing duties, including restocking items, cleaning as needed, etc.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets
• Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
• Be knowledgeable about The Post Oak and its services
