About The Position

As an In-Process Builder, you will be responsible for the overall assembly layup/build, cure, and final finish of the products in 8757 to meet customer expectations. This position requires various manufacturing processes, including assembling, drilling, sanding, and using any other tools needed to complete the final product. The ideal candidate for this position should be someone who works well with a team and collaborates with people from other departments. Builders will perform preventive maintenance on their tools and machines as required. This position will be responsible for the timely production and testing of quality parts as called out in the manufacturing instructions. All builders are expected to issue their parts used to the work orders to maintain traceability and claim their work accurately in the time keeping and ERP systems.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a HS Diploma or equivalent. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Have experience reading blueprints, rulers, and specification sheets
  • Understand military time and be able to calculate time hours
  • Willing to be trained to wear a respirator and work with chemicals/paints as needed.
  • The ability to work any shifts and overtime including weekends
  • The ability to properly document materials used and understand the importance of material traceability
  • Willing to become certified to operate forklifts and trained in cranes and hoists
  • Performs work in a safe manner and completes all required safety training

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, track and record data related to the different cures of parts
  • Confer with supervisors or other equipment operators to report equipment malfunctions or to resolve production problems.
  • Adjust controls to regulate equipment according to specifications.
  • Record gauge readings, test results, and shift production in log books
  • Transport materials and products to and from work areas, manually or using carts, hand trucks, hoists, and forklift
  • Fill out necessary paperwork in order to maintain part traceability and accountability
  • Ability to implement procedures set in manufacturing instructions to assemble parts
  • Ability to read, calculate, measure and mix ingredients, document and follow written work instructions and procedures
  • Receive precut pieces of composite material and perform repetitive actions on multiple pieces using hand tools
  • Preform preventative maintenance on tooling and machines
  • Complete all documents completely and accurately all the computerized tracking systems
  • Drive plant performance through safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics
  • Keep work area clean and organized to facilitate process flow improvements
  • Participates in CORE initiatives and activities
  • Clean work area at the end of the shift
  • Complete other duties as assigned
