The Lawrenceville School seeks enthusiastic, energetic, collegial individuals who want to work with both adults and students in a collaborative and inclusive academic setting. The In-Person Prefect position requires full-time work during the 3-week duration of the program. The in-person prefect is asked to live in a dorm and be accessible for work 24/7 during the program. The Summer Scholars program runs from Monday, July 6, 2026, to Friday, July 24, 2026. All in-person prefects must attend the one two to four-hour virtual orientation, date TBD, and be present on move-in day (July 5, 2026) from 12:30 pm-4:00 pm. Prefects must be available for the entirety of the program. Summary: Prefects must be rising seniors or recent graduates of The Lawrenceville School. Position responsibilities include helping to manage House life and community time and activities, supervising during meals, providing support during study hall and house check-in times, facilitating afternoon and evening activities, on weekends, and assisting during House Cup activities. You may be expected to help create, plan, and execute daily activities, manage carpool, assist with classroom/dorm setup and other camp needs. Crucially important to the student experience, prefects are expected to be the fun but responsible adults in a room full of younger students. The Prefects work together with the Executive Director of LVSS, the Director of Community Engagement, the Director of Students, and the Heads of House to provide support, guidance, and supervision to the students enrolled in the program. This is a fully in-person position, as the essential functions of the role require direct, on-campus engagement with students, faculty, and staff.
