About The Position

We’re seeking a skilled In-House Tradesman to join our team and make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve. As an In-House Tradesman, you’ll be responsible for the daily field production of small to mid-sized residential projects. Work may include drywall, texture, painting, trim, light electrical and plumbing, and other reconstruction tasks needed to return properties to their pre-loss condition. This position plays a vital role in our mission to provide extraordinary care and support for homeowners during their time of need. What Does an In-House Tradesman Do at Paul Davis? As an In-House Tradesman with Paul Davis Restoration, you’ll play a hands-on role in helping homeowners and businesses recover after unexpected property damage. Your work directly impacts lives — restoring not just structures, but the sense of comfort and peace that comes with them. In this role, you will: Serve your community by helping others in their time of need. Make a meaningful difference for property owners affected by fire, water, storm, or other disasters. Take pride in your craftsmanship as you complete small to medium-sized residential projects involving drywall, texture, paint, trim, light electrical, plumbing, and other reconstruction tasks that restore properties to pre-loss condition. Demonstrate empathy and urgency while communicating with customers and team members through modern technology.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Written and verbal fluency in English
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work nights/weekends and overtime, if needed
  • Physical Fitness and Stamina : The role is physically demanding and requires lifting, standing, bending, and working in various positions. Being able to lift heavy materials and perform repetitive tasks is often necessary.
  • Experience in Drywall, Trim, and Painting: At least 2–3 years of experience in drywall installation, finishing, trim work, and professional painting is often preferred.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in using tools and equipment specific to drywall, trim, and painting work.
  • Knowledge of Safety Practices : Understanding of and adherence to safety regulations and practices to prevent accidents, especially when working with potentially hazardous materials or in damaged buildings.
  • Flexibility for On-Call Work : Paul Davis Restoration often deals with emergency situations, so being available for on-call shifts or work outside of standard hours may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Drywall Installation and Repair : Installing new drywall, repairing damaged drywall, and preparing surfaces for painting or further finishing. This includes tasks like taping, mudding, sanding, and ensuring smooth, even surfaces.
  • Maintain focus and dedication to providing excellent customer service
  • Painting and Finishing : Preparing surfaces and applying paint or other finishes. This includes priming, painting, staining, and other finishing techniques to achieve a high-quality look.
  • Trim and Molding Installation : Installing and repairing trim, molding, and other woodwork. This can involve measuring, cutting, and securing these materials to ensure a polished and cohesive look.
  • Surface Preparation and Cleaning : Preparing walls, ceilings, and other surfaces for paint or trim work, including filling holes, sanding, and cleaning to ensure optimal adhesion and durability of the finish.
  • Restoration and Repairs : Performing necessary repairs to homes and buildings affected by water, fire, smoke, or mold damage, paying close attention to restoring spaces to their original condition.
  • Quality Control : Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets company standards, safety requirements, and client expectations. This includes correcting any deficiencies and ensuring a clean, professional finish.
  • Equipment and Material Handling : Maintaining and properly using equipment and materials, including brushes, rollers, drywall tools, and safety equipment, to ensure a safe, organized, and productive workspace.
