About The Position
HNS Recovery, a leader in the vehicle repossession industry known for ethical and efficient solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and licensed attorney to join our corporate team. This is a pivotal role for a legal professional with expertise in commercial law, compliance, and repossession regulations who is ready to drive legal strategy and mitigate risk for a dynamic and rapidly expanding company. As our In-House Legal Counsel, you will be instrumental in shaping our legal framework, ensuring compliance, and protecting our business interests in a complex regulatory landscape.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active and in good standing Texas law license.
- Demonstrated expertise in state and federal repossession laws and regulations.
- Proven track record in litigation management and contract negotiation.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive independently while managing multiple complex legal matters.
Nice To Haves
- Experience within the vehicle finance, recovery, or repossession sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal counsel on all aspects of vehicle repossession, contract disputes, and commercial litigation.
- Champion compliance with state and federal laws, including critical regulations such as the FCRA, GLBA, SCRA, FDCPA and UCC.
- Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts to safeguard company interests.
- Strategically manage litigation, collaborating with external counsel for effective resolution.
- Proactively monitor regulatory changes and guide the company in adapting its practices.
- Identify and mitigate potential legal risks, developing and implementing policies to minimize exposure.
