About The Position

Headquartered in Anaheim, California, Lobel Financial Corporation is a privately-owned indirect auto lender. We purchase and service motor vehicle retail installment contracts entered into by consumers and dealerships all across the country. Description: Lobel Financial Corporation is looking for an attorney to join its Legal Department and provide strategic counsel on a wide range of litigation, corporate, and compliance matters. This role is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys variety while working closely with executive leadership.

Requirements

JD Degree and member in good standing of the California Bar.
2+ years of recent and continuous experience as a practicing attorney working in either a financial services practice group of a law firm or financial services legal department.
Knowledge of relevant local, state and federal consumer finance and consumer protection laws and regulations and their application to business operations.
Demonstrated ability to provide research, counsel and guidance on legal questions or inquiries.
Ability to analyze legal issues and provide effective advice on routine legal matters.
Strong verbal and written communications skills; interpersonal skills; customer service-oriented
Excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail; flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
Strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze and assess potential litigation risks and identify solutions to legal problems.
Manage litigation strategy, handle discovery and case preparation, and work to resolve disputes in a cost-effective manner.
Skilled and efficient at gathering information, understanding business needs and goals, detecting legal issues and obstacles, identifying solutions and alternatives, and succinctly and competently counseling and communicating with mid to senior-level managers regarding legal risks, solutions, and alternatives.
Proficient at drafting and analyzing contracts, including with auto dealers, service providers and customers.
Working knowledge and practical experience with federal and state laws, including without limitation, fair lending and pricing, ECOA, FCRA, TILA, SCRA, UDAAP, Consumer Financial Protection Act, FDCPA, TCPA, Regulation E, ESIGN, customer service, collections, repossession, and remarketing laws, GLBA, information security, and data breach notification.
