We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In-Home Respite Provider to offer essential support to children with disabilities and their families. In this role, you will be responsible for providing temporary relief and assistance to caregivers, ensuring the safety, well-being, and social development of children with disabilities in the comfort of their own homes. Your role will play a crucial part in improving the quality of life for both the children and their families. This position is part-time, with a focus on after-school availability, specifically shifts between 3 PM and 8 PM, totaling 10 to 20 hours per week. As an In-Home Respite Provider, you will provide one-on-one care, companionship, and emotional support to children with disabilities while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. You will develop age-appropriate and disability-specific activities and play routines to engage and stimulate the child's cognitive, physical, and emotional development. Ensuring the safety of the child at all times is paramount, and you will proactively identify potential risks and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents or injuries. Effective communication is essential in this role, as you will maintain open lines of communication with the child's primary caregivers, therapists, and healthcare providers to ensure consistency in care and treatment plans. You will also work with families to schedule respite care sessions at times that are convenient for them while meeting the child's needs. Encouraging and facilitating the child's participation in community activities will promote socialization and inclusion, further enhancing their quality of life.
