Compassionate In Home Caregiver l Several Evenings Per Week
About The Position
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate caregiver to provide in-home support for an elderly client living with their spouse in a residential apartment setting. The ideal candidate will be patient, attentive, and experienced in providing care for individuals with mobility challenges and cognitive or sensory limitations. Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday 5pm-9:30pm $23 per hour Client Overview: Requires supervision at all times due to fall risk and frailty Diagnosed with arthritis and osteoporosis Uses a walker for mobility and a wheelchair for outings Wears hearing aids and glasses Enjoys light activities and benefits from consistent engagement Takes daily afternoon rest periods This is a great opportunity for a caregiver who is compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centered care in a supportive home environment.
Requirements
- Previous caregiving experience preferred, especially with elderly clients
- Experience with fall-risk clients and mobility assistance
- Patient, dependable, and attentive to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively and adapt to client needs
- Comfortable providing personal and incontinence care
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous safety supervision and fall prevention support
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, toileting, and personal care
- Support safe ambulation using a walker and assist with wheelchair use when leaving the home
- Encourage engagement through light activities such as crafts, conversation, and short walks
- Communicate clearly and effectively, adapting to hearing impairments as needed (e.g., written communication)
- Assist with incontinence care, including monitoring and changing as needed
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Maintain a calm, patient, and supportive environment
- Follow all care instructions and safety protocols, including awareness of medical conditions and emergency documentation
