Requirements

Previous Caregiving Experience : Personal or professional experience in caregiving is a plus.
Empathy and Compassion: A deep understanding and sensitivity to the emotional and physical needs of the person being cared for, with a genuine desire to improve their quality of life.
Patience: The ability to remain calm, understanding, and tolerant, especially in challenging or repetitive situations .
Attention to Detail : Observant and able to notice any changes in the health or well-being of the individual.
Communication Skills: Effective, clear, and compassionate communication to ensure the person being cared for feels understood and to provide updates to family members when necessary.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Quick thinking and the ability to adapt to changing situations, often needing to find solutions independently.
Time Management: Capable of organizing and completing caregiving tasks efficiently.
English Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally (in person and on the phone) and in writing.
Respect and Dignity: Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect.
Adaptability : Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations.
Travel Ability: Ability to travel at least 15 miles one way to an assignment.
Willingness to consent to client safety devices that may include recording devices.

Responsibilities

Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a warm and engaging environment.
Assist with mobility and transfers , including the use of assistive devices when needed.
Remind and assist with medication management as per the care plan (following state regulations).
Engage clients in meaningful activities such as conversation, light exercise, hobbies, and cognitive stimulation.
Accompany clients to medical appointments, errands, or social outings , ensuring safe transportation and support.
Assist with light housekeeping duties , including laundry, dish washing, and tidying up to promote a comfortable home environment.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals , considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
Observe and report changes in physical, emotional, or cognitive health to supervisors or family members as necessary.
Respect client dignity and promote independence while assisting with personal care and daily routines.
