About The Position

The In Home Caregiver role is essential for providing compassionate support and care to individuals in their homes, particularly those with developmental disabilities such as autism. This position focuses on assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. The caregiver will engage clients in meaningful activities and collaborate with healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans.

Requirements

• Proficiency in providing patient care with a focus on compassion and respect for individual needs.
• Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of CPR techniques and emergency response protocols.
• Familiarity with home health practices and the administration of medications.
• Ability to monitor vital signs accurately and report any changes in client conditions.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• A caring attitude coupled with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide medication administration as prescribed, ensuring adherence to medication schedules.
• Monitor and record vital signs to track the health status of clients.
• Support individuals with developmental disabilities in daily routines and community integration.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to HIPAA regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote their physical and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to create personalized care plans.
• Respond promptly to client needs and emergencies while demonstrating patience and empathy.
