Requirements

  • Prior experience in caregiving or related fields preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and mobility assistance.
  • Reliable, compassionate, and patient demeanor.
  • Pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is a plus.
  • CNA license is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal hygiene aspects of care to the client, including bathing, oral hygiene, skin care, and hair care.
  • Assist with transfer of client, e.g., bed to chair, bed to commode, chair/commode to bed.
  • Assist with ambulation and exercise of the client as ordered and as assigned.
  • Assist with or provide meal preparation and related tasks.
  • Assist with the feeding of the client.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the client.
  • Have an awareness of the emotional status of the client and be able to understand the emotional problems associated with the illness.
  • Coordinate care with the primary nurse and/or the clinical manager.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of visits.
  • Attend regular meetings of the Private Home Care team and have direct involvement in developing, implementing and evaluating the plan of care.
  • Report client progress and problems to supervisory personnel and procedures for handling medical emergencies or other incidents that affect the delivery of services in accordance with the client's service plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
