In-Home Adult Caregiver
About The Position
We’re currently looking for a In-Home Caregiver in Los Angeles, CA (90041) A family in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles is seeking an experienced, patient, and compassionate caregiver to provide one-on-one care for their easygoing 65-year-old father who is recovering from a recent stroke. He is currently in a rehabilitation facility and is expected to return home soon. He is fully aware and coherent, though he experiences delayed verbal communication. He requires hands-on physical support throughout the day while his family is at work. Schedule: Monday–Friday (main focus) 2–3 days per week Hours/Availability Window: 8:00am–7:00pm (includes family commute time) Minimum of 4 hours per day, up to 8 hours per day Occasional weekend support may be requested Hours: Family is flexible Family can provide at least 1 week’s notice Start Date: ASAP Length of Position: Ongoing (temporary, based on mobility recovery progress) Rate: $18 per hour Care Recipient: 1 adult male, age 65 | Calm, quiet, and receptive to care
Requirements
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in adult care, home health aide, or related field
- Experience caring for stroke recovery patients strongly preferred
- CPR certified (or willing to obtain certification)
- Ability to assist with mobility and physical transfers
- Ability to pass a background check and social media screening
- Provide 2 professional care-related references
- Comfortable around pets, no care is required (two friendly cats and one friendly dog; can be crated if needed)

- Experience caring for stroke recovery patients strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and companionship
- Assist with mobility (walker support, gait assistance, under-arm support as needed)
- Assist with transfers, including bed transfers and lifting support
- Support with toileting and incontinence care
- Ensure client remains clean, dry, and comfortable
- Warm and serve pre-prepared meals
- Provide medication reminders
- Assist with hygiene, including showering if needed
- Communicate with family regarding daily care and any observations
- Driving not currently required (may be discussed in the future)
