Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Must be willing to acquire a State of North Carolina Grade 1 Certification as a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of workplace safety rules.
  • Self-sufficient in electrical, pumps/valves, pipes, plumbing, welding and in heavy equipment operations.
  • Able to ensure that waste water distribution rates meet prescribed ground absorption capacity and/or crop utilization allowances.
  • Able to operate waste water distribution system to maintain adequate storage capacity in lagoons for daily waste water production.
  • Able to operate backhoes and trenchers during installation of pipelines, pumps and related waste water distribution equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Coach the team to achieve improvement goals and objectives from IMTWS.
  • Guide the team using the IMTWS vision for direction.
  • Perform daily maintenance functions as an IMT if business requires.
  • Direct associates in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Facilitate work schedules based on realistic estimates considering actual or expected performance levels.
  • Coordinate work order priorities and facilitate daily, weekly and monthly team meetings.
  • Create action plans and develop timelines to resolve problems.
  • Establish a recognition plan for team and/or individual accomplishment within the IMTWS.
  • Provide required data, information and reports to upper management.
  • Assist the Training and IMTWS Coordinators in creating IMT training plans and schedules.
  • Participate in the certification process of the IMT's.
  • In absence of maintenance Supervisor or Manager, Lead is responsible for daily operational responsibilities and leading weekend work crews maintaining all equipment in the Waste Water area.
  • Maintain all equipment, repairing and/or rebuilding all mechanical components.
  • Maintain all necessary electrical work on all equipment.
  • Direct waste water distribution through series of aerators, pumps/valves, pipes, center pivot irrigators, and spray heads.
  • Maintain logs of both volumes of waste water distributed and equipment usage and maintenance performed.
