Enterprise Database Services – works with all areas of I/S, including all I/S Project Management Offices, application development areas, and other areas of I/S Operations, on the creation and maintenance of all data bases, both operational and informational, under the DB2 and IMS data base management systems on the z/OS mainframe platform as well as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and MongoDB on various platforms. As part of infrastructure, Data Base Administration also works with other Technical Support areas on the selection, installation, testing and maintenance of vendor software used to support the various database platforms. The database structures created and maintained by Enterprise Database Services contain data for application systems used by most of the areas of the company. Enterprise Data Base Services is one of the key resources in the development and maintenance of these applications and has responsibilities in all phases of the system development methodology used by I/S. Description This position will participate in an on-call rotation and occasional after hours and weekend work. Position Purpose: Work as part of a team to support business applications and participate in project activities as assigned. Analyze and develop complex logical and physical database designs, data models and relational data definitions in support of corporate and client information systems requirements. Ensure that department standards for data are adhered to in constructing data management programs and tools. Perform regular monitoring, maintenance, and housekeeping for performance, capacity, and troubleshooting of assigned databases. Mentor less experienced team members.
