Requirements

  • A relevant Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, International Business or similar area is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Export Coordinator or similar role within the logistics or international Trade industry.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of export regulations, customs procedures and international shipping documentation.
  • Proficiency in Export Software, Computer Systems including ERP systems, MS office and tracking tools.
  • Minimum two years of experience in freight forwarding or import/export administration.
  • Fundamental knowledge of import-export logistics/regulations/freight forwarder operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate using both written and verbal communication with diverse work groups, cross-functional teams including customers and internal Berje employees.
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive and professional manner, strong focus on detail, accuracy and accountability.
  • Ability to problem solve utilizing analytical abilities with proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, trade compliance programs and export licensing a must.

Nice To Haves

  • HazMat/DG Certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the freight forwarding industry is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Import-Export Operations: Facilitate end to end Import and/or Export Processing by collaborating with various internal Departments, Suppliers, Freight Forwarders and Custom Agents to ensure smooth execution of Export Operations.
  • Prepare and review import-export documents, such as business invoices, packing slips, certificates of origin and other essential paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and import-export control law.
  • Stay updated with import/export regulations, trade agreements and industry best practices and communicate with internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to import/export compliance guidelines.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders and carriers to schedule shipments, negotiate rates and monitor transportation arrangements.
  • Serve as point of contact for internal departments to address vendor/customers updates and status inquiries, providing shipping updates as well as resolving any issues related to orders.
  • Identify and communicate any potential risks and challenges in the import/export process such as custom delays, transportation issues or regulatory changes.
  • Create contingency plans and take proactive actions to reduce risk and ensure on time delivery.
  • Handle processing of FedEx shipments for all Berje Departments.
  • Assist in filing/storage of documentation.
