A Day in the Life The Tariff Program Manager is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing US tariff mitigation strategies. This role will lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize tariff exposure, ensure regulatory compliance, and support business objectives in accordance with Medtronic’s quality standards and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 5 years related experience in import and export, international trade, or supply chain OR a Masters Degree and a minimum of 3 years related experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with proven problem solving and decision-making
  • Effective time management/prioritization skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with excellent project management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and ability to delegate

Nice To Haves

  • SAP ERP experience
  • Broker EDI setup experience
  • Database expertise and PowerBI experience
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • Degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, or other related field a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of U.S. Customs & Border Protection, Food & Drug Administration laws and regulations
  • Basic knowledge of international air and ocean transportation
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and ability to delegate

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, design, oversee and report on Trade owned tariff mitigation strategies, ensuring alignment with Medtronic’s business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide program management of Trade owned tariff mitigation strategies from initiation through execution.
  • Monitor and interpret US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) updates, and trade actions; communicate business impacts and recommended actions.
  • Assess, identify, and report on risks related to tariff exposure and implement mitigation plans as needed.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for internal stakeholders, providing guidance on US tariff
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects, collaborating with Supply Chain, Legal and Compliance, Finance, Data Insights to execute tariff mitigation initiatives.
  • Identify gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a consultant and support responses to government inquiries, audits, and investigations related to tariffs and customs compliance.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key metrics related to tariff costs, savings, and compliance.
