Position Summary This position is for an Implant Engineer that will support equipment and process capabilities of ion implantation OR rapid thermal processing (RTP) equipment. In this job, you will be a part of a team that focuses on maintaining basic condition and stable processing of state-of-the-art equipment while driving improvements related to quality, efficiency, defect reduction, and cost of ownership. Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study
  • 2+ years of semi-conductor experience highly desired with knowledge of Implant or Anneal processes and equipment preferred.
  • Experience with 300 mm tools (AMAT VIISta, NISSIN, AMAT Centura, Veeco LSA ‑ 101, Mattson Millios)
  • Strong analytical & problem ‑ solving ability.
  • Mechanical aptitude (highly desired).
  • Knowledge of Lean & TPM.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication.
  • Collaborative mindset; ability to network for solutions.
  • Willingness to try new things knowing that failure is just a learning opportunity
  • Desire to do good for the company and in the community
  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 high volume manufacturing environment.
  • All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require you to be onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain & improve state ‑ of ‑ the ‑ art equipment (300 mm implant/RTP tools).
  • Apply 6S & Lean principles; identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Analyze data to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues
  • Provide on ‑ call support to technicians, create & run recovery plans.
  • Document daily tool activity; update SOPs & share lessons learned.
  • Lead process qualification for new devices & tool installs.
  • Develop projects for cost/particle/downtime reduction & part ‑ life extension.
  • Manage vendor support & coordinate cross ‑ department risk ‑ mitigation.
