About The Position

As a National Account Manager, you will drive revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, cultivating long-term strategic relationships, and delivering tailored, transportation solutions. This role requires a deep industry knowledge and the ability to think strategically while executing sales with precision.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in international freight forwarding sales, with a strong understanding of air/ocean freight, customs brokerage, and supply chain services.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Proven success in managing sales territories, negotiating large deals, and delivering complex presentations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics operations, pricing models, and customer service excellence.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales reporting systems.
  • Must be comfortable with traveling regularly to customers, potential customers, meetings, and other as needed.

  • Preferred experience in key verticals including Healthcare, Biotech, Life Sciences, Aerospace, Advanced Manufacturing, Technology, Specialty Automotive, and Specialty Chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new business development efforts and expand Imperative’s market presence across assigned territories and verticals.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers at existing and prospective client organizations.
  • Research, qualify, and develop sales leads using various sources including industry events, directories, digital tools, and referrals.
  • Engage with sales leads provided by the Corporate Sales Office and global partners, ensuring timely follow-up and conversion strategies.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual meetings, including travel within assigned regions, to present Imperative’s value proposition.
  • Deliver compelling, client-focused presentations that showcase our logistics solutions, operational capabilities, and service advantages.
  • Oversee onboarding and implementation of new clients, ensuring smooth transition and long-term satisfaction.
  • Coordinate customer training and manage ongoing client support in collaboration with operations and account management teams.
  • Develop customer-specific SOPs and pricing strategies that support service excellence and operational consistency.
  • Support CRM data integrity by maintaining accurate records of customer activity, pipeline updates, and touchpoints.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to both internal teams and clients, leveraging your experience to support company-wide growth efforts.
  • Lead by example—providing mentorship and guidance to junior sales team members when appropriate.
