About The Position

We are currently seeking an Immunology Histology Technician to join our IHC team! Role Overview: Section paraffin and frozen tissue specimens as requested. Basic histology techniques (e.g. embed, process tissue). Primarily perform automated Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in-situ hybridization (ISH) – employing different stainer platforms (e.g. Leica, Ventana). Perform Hematoxylin Eosin staining for evaluating and analyzing tissues. Assist in the development of new IHC and ISH protocols and techniques. Test and validate new antibodies for CLIA approved IHC/ISH protocols. Analyze and troubleshoot equipment-related issues Construct various types of multi tissue blocks (MTB) Maintains vital quality control and assurance records

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field with knowledge of Biology, Chemistry
  • Ability to perform dilutions and laboratory calculations
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong digital literacy including working with databases
  • Problem solver, who can manage complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Good decision maker, with proven success of making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward.
  • Committed and eager to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

Nice To Haves

  • NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Technician, or Certified Histology Technician license preferred.
  • Eligibility to obtain NYS license required
