The Virology Department seeks a highly motivated Immunologist to join a research team developing novel therapeutics that enhance host immune responses to viral infections. The successful candidate will drive early-stage drug discovery, leveraging expertise in immunology to design and execute biological studies that advance our understanding of immune modulation and antiviral strategies. Requirements

  • PhD in immunology, viral immunology, immuno-oncology or related field with 0+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated research productivity and innovation through first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals

Nice To Haves

  • PhD and 2+years postdoctoral experience in immunology, viral immunology, or immuno-oncology with proven successful research strongly preferred
  • Strong background and hands-on experience in human adaptive immunity and immune modulation strategies
  • Expertise in T and/or B cellular immunology
  • Expertise in liver immunology
  • Demonstrated research productivity and innovation through first-author publications in top-tier journals
  • Strong motivation, independence and ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment with minimal supervision
  • Expertise in multi-color flow cytometry (10+ colors), primary immune cell isolation and culture, intracellular cytokine staining, and other assays used to probe immune cell function

Responsibilities

  • Leads the design and execution of scientific research to discover novel drug targets and advance therapeutic candidates
  • Independently plans, performs, and interprets in vitro experiments to generate high‑quality data that drives decision‑making within drug discovery programs
  • Establish and optimize preclinical models to assess immune modulation and therapeutic efficacy
  • Proactively evaluates new technologies and develops new assays to enhance our understanding of disease mechanisms
  • Evaluate and propose new therapeutic concepts and project ideas
  • Works collaboratively in cross-functional project teams
  • Present research findings to project teams and senior leadership; contribute to publications, patents, and regulatory filings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must think critically and creatively, stay informed of the latest developments in the field, and have excellent organizational and planning skills
