About The Position

Under the limited leadership of the Assessment, Compliance, and Epidemiology Director, performs highly advanced (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment in the Intervention Team. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing activities for the Intervention Team on procedures and plans; training and education; programmatic management; internal quality assurance; communicates with staff within the Immunization Section to create interventions to increace vaccine uptake in Texas. Serves as a team lead for the Intervention Team for 2 staff members. Serves as a subject matter expert for the interventions conducted by the team.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Leads the coordination, and updates plans and procedures, for the Intervention team.
  • Communicates with customers verbally and in writing regarding project notifications and updates.
  • Provides updates on intervention development and implamentation to senior management.
  • Review and evaluate immunization vaccine coverage assessment rates received from the Assessment, Compliance and Epidemimology (ACE) epidemiologists.
  • Responsible for overseeing the writing/editing/updating intervention plans.
  • Distributes and monitors the work of 2 staff members in the Intervention Team and develops and implements the team's performance.
  • Works with stakeholders and large state associations to increase vaccine coverage rates across Texas.
  • Coordinates and manages meeting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compiles information and submits articles for newsletters on information that is applicable to responsible entity staff.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations on interventions at conferences for internal or external customers.
  • Performs QA activities to improve program and works with program staff to identify and resolve technical and procedural problems.
  • Coordinates the preparation of brochures and other documents on improving vaccination coverage rates for distribution to respective sites.
  • Coordinates training and education for regional and local health department staff.
  • Explains complex policies and procedures in simplified terms to increase compliance.
  • Responsible for the creation of and maintains train-the trainer materials for use statewide.
  • Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
