The immunization (IZ) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the immunization program to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient vaccine delivery across clinic sites. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and organizational immunization requirements, maintains vaccine inventory and cold chain management, coordinates staff training, and serves as the primary point of contact for immunization reporting and audits. With a Quality, Customer First, and Compassionate approach, The Immunization Coordinator will: Immunization Program Oversight: Coordinate and manage all clinic immunization activities in accordance with CDC, ACIP, VFC, and state immunization program guideline. Serve as the subject matter expert for immunization policies, schedules, and best practices. Ensure immunization workflows are implemented consistently across all clinic sites. Ensure FlexScanMD workflows are implemented consistently across all clinic sites. Vaccine Inventory & Cold Chain Management: Monitor vaccine inventory levels and place orders as needed. Monitor FlexScanMD processes (inventory, correcting errors) Ensure proper vaccine storage, handling, and temperature monitoring. Maintain temperature logs and address cold chain excursions promptly. Coordinate vaccine returns, wastage documentation, and reconciliation. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with VFC and other immunization program requirements. Complete and submit required reports, audits, and site visit documentation. Maintain accurate immunization records in the EHR and state immunization registry (e.g., IIS/CAIR) Act as liaison with public health departments and immunization programs Training & Staff Support: Provide initial and ongoing immunization training for clinical staff (MAs, nurses, providers) Develop and update immunization protocols, workflows, and reference materials. Monitor staff competency related to vaccine administration and documentation. Quality Improvement & Patient Access: Monitor immunization rates and identify opportunities for improvement. Support clinic initiatives to increase vaccination uptake. Assist with immunization clinics, outreach events, and special campaigns (e.g., flu season) Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with leadership, nursing, pharmacy, and operations teams. Communicate updates related to immunization changes, recalls, or supply issues.
