The immigration paralegal will prepare and file USCIS filings and draft supporting legal letters for all types of visa petitions and applications. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage client relationships for high-volume clients and complex projects under short deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with various technology platforms, including Microsoft Office and Immigration Case Management Software.
  • Effective communication in oral and written English.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Initiative, team orientation and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting and support immigration attorneys in the preparation and filing of immigration applications and petitions.
  • Preparing nonimmigrant visa petitions (e.g., E-1/E-2/E-3, H-1B, O-1, R-1, TN), I-140 immigrant visa petitions, naturalization applications, Adjustment of Status Applications, and/or PERM applications.
  • Communicating with client HR and legal representatives on case preparation and status.
  • Liaising with relevant government agencies including USCIS, CBP, US Department of State, and US Department of Labor.
  • Analyzing, reviewing and organizing documents and data from materials produced.
  • Preparing/coordinate document production and responses to requests for evidence.
  • Assisting attorney with gathering evidence, preparing supporting documents, preparing evidence and exhibits, and complying with procedural requirements and filing deadlines.
  • Analyzing and reviewing case details to determine future actions.
  • Demonstrating strategic thinking and initiative with regard to case assignments and identify and resolve delays in process.
  • Entering time records.
  • Creating new files and updating client matter reports.
  • Addressing client case status inquiries, including processing remaining steps in filing, processing times, and consular appointment issues.
  • Conducting ongoing and regular case tracking and management using Firm systems and procedures.
