About The Position

The Immigration Officer position within the Fraud Detection and National Security (FDNS) Directorate is a critical role embedded in the FDNS Refugee, Asylum and International Operations (RAIO) Directorate's FDNS Asylum Branch HQ. In this capacity, you will be responsible for providing guidance and conducting thorough research aimed at enhancing current policies and procedures related to immigration. A significant aspect of your role will involve identifying, articulating, and pursuing suspected immigration benefit fraud, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of the immigration system and ensuring national security. As an Immigration Officer, you will serve as a liaison, collaborating with various internal and external entities within the Department of Homeland Security. This collaboration is vital for the effective implementation of national policies and procedures. You will also be tasked with preparing concept and position papers that are designed to enhance a variety of policies, procedures, and projects. Your role will require you to coordinate, plan, and organize briefings and information exchange-related programs and projects, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged. Additionally, you will be recognized as an expert in the development and dissemination of regulatory information, which includes creating standard operating procedures, operational manuals, and other essential background and security check information. This position is not only pivotal in the detection and deterrence of fraud but also plays a crucial role in the overall security of U.S. communities by systematically identifying and managing fraud cases and vulnerabilities within the legal immigration system.
