About The Position

KIPP Jacksonville seeks paraprofessionals to support our primary K-2 classrooms and our 3rd English/Reading classrooms. The paraprofessional will be assigned one classroom and will support students alongside a lead teacher, the grade level team, and the ELA department. Paraprofessionals support the teacher during the regular school day and are under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher. Paraprofessionals will conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher to support students in small groups and assist with the preparation and/or implementation of differentiated instruction. Paraprofessionals will support the classroom by helping students with morning/arrival routines or dismissal routines, transitioning and supervising students at lunch or recess, and prepping materials used for instruction in the classroom. Paraprofessionals will receive feedback from both their classroom teacher and the school’s administration team. While KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools does employ some paraprofessionals in the standard model, we are aiming to expand the number of paraprofessionals in these classrooms with additional funding sources. While it is possible funding for this position may be allocated in future years, it is now only funded through the current source through June 2025.
