About The Position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks an academic interventionist who will focus on math for 9th - 12th grade students at KIPP Bold City High School. The interventionist focuses on supporting students as an extra layer of support beyond their core academic instruction. The interventionist role includes leading several blocks of intensive math. When the interventionist doesn't have a class, they are pulling small groups, tracking academic progress, ensuring students are accessing blended learning pieces that support their growth, partnering with classroom teachers to ensure student interventions are effective, and other duties as assigned. All teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing our curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with our families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their Principal. Because the interventionist supports math RtI across multiple grade levels, the model and schedule can vary slightly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Equivalent (Math 6-12)
  • At least two years of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom

Nice To Haves

  • ESOL endorsement or one 60-point workshop completed in Florida
  • Reading endorsement
  • Additional certifications in ESE K-12
  • Three or more years of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
