About The Position

Utilizes imaging equipment to conduct radiological diagnostic procedures as needed for evaluating patient conditions. Creates and maintains records and files as directed.

Requirements

  • AAS Radiologic Technology.
  • Current ARRT Certification and NYS License.
  • Minimum of two years of Radiologic Technologist experience.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills while performing any and all tasks associated with the position.

Responsibilities

  • Operates computer and radiographic equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body, under the supervision of a Radiologist.
  • Performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuing optimal quality images.
  • Prepares patient for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing patients needs and providing patient education.
  • Sets up sterile trays and prepares room for fluoroscopic guided procedures.
  • Assists physicians with fluoroscopic/C-Arm procedures.
  • Operates C-Arm imaging equipment to capture high-quality fluoroscopic images during surgical and diagnostic procedures.
  • Records appropriate chart notations in Patient Information System and/or Patient files.
  • Prepares and maintains records and files as directed.
  • Stores and maintains films according to department policy and procedures.
  • Prepares patient films for interpretation by radiologist.
  • Practices safety measures in radiography and Environment of Care.
  • Maintains and tests equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Assist Physicians with Orthopedic casting procedures to include the application and removal of a variety of casts and splints.
  • Prepare and position patient for casting procedures.
  • Instruct patients in cast ware, wound care, swelling, and how to remove and apply splints.
  • Perform routine examinations and treatment procedures to include removing casts, cleaning wounds and applying medications and dressings.
  • Cross train in clinical areas to support patients and providers.
  • Room patients, update patient charts, take vitals and patient history.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Handles other duties as required.
