About The Position

The Imaging Technologist – Spinal/X-Ray position at Midwest Radiology involves performing special procedures and radiographic exams according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care. The role requires working at the Coon Rapids location with a schedule that alternates between two weeks: the first week is Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm, and the second week is Monday to Thursday from 7am to 5pm, with every other Friday off. There are no night shifts, weekends, holidays, or call time. A one-time bonus of $3,000 is offered upon successful completion of one year of employment.

Requirements

• RT (R) RT eligible from an approved educational program required.
• 3-6 months general x-ray experience preferred.
• 6-12 months special procedures experience preferred.
• RT (R) registration required and maintained in good standing.
• CPR certification required within 6 months of hire and maintained in good standing.
• Knowledge of basic radiologic principles, procedures, methods, and techniques required.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology required.
• Excellent patient care, problem solving, organizational, communication, and technical skills required.
• Ability to work independently, in a team, and with all levels of the organization required.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform all special procedures and radiographic exams according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care in a timely manner.
• Obtain patient history, answer questions, and provide the patient with information about the exam and/or procedure.
• Work with radiologists, referring clinics, and/or patients to ensure the appropriate exams, films, and medical records are correct and prepared for the exam.
• Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete for the radiologist, referring clinic, and the patient’s medical records.
• May require local travel.
• Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers.
• Other duties may include training new employees, stocking and/or ordering department supplies, and assisting in other departments.
