Summary of Performance Expectations: An ultrasound technologist is expected to perform high-quality ultrasound examinations according to established guidelines and protocols, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality while effectively communicating and addressing patient concerns. They must produce accurate diagnostic images, identify both normal and abnormal anatomical structures, and assist physicians in interpreting results. Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with the healthcare team are vital for providing exceptional patient care and supporting diagnostic needs. Additionally, professionalism, time management, and compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols are crucial to this role. Education & Credentials: Effective July 29, 2016, newly employed Imaging Technologist are required to possess an Associate degree from an accredited program of Medical Sonography. Current ARDMS registration with at least two specialties or registered with OB credential and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) competency within 90 days of hire. (CVHS competency required) BCLS certification. If the BCLS certification is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), an AHA certification is required within one month of employment date.
