Imaging Tech Student - VelocityCare Salem
About The Position
The imaging technician student is involved in a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for and/or performing ultrasound examinations for diagnosis of patients. The student applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served. Under direct supervision of a registered technologist, the student operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality radiographs. The role also involves duties associated with processing patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing skills. The student evaluates and positions patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent education required
- Current student in 3rd or 4th quarter of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
- Letter of support from Program Director
- Good interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments
