About The Position

The Imaging Support Specialist is responsible for patient care during transportation to and from the Diagnostic Imaging Department, and assists technologists with identification of films. The support specialist is required to assist the Radiology, MRI, Ultrasound, CT Scan or Nuclear Medicine technologist with patient care. This person is responsible for patients from neonatal to geriatric ages. This position is responsible for related duties to provide quality care dictated by departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan.

Attends the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs.
Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program.
Complies with all HIPAA standards.
Transports patients to and from the Diagnostic Imaging Department, including Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, MRI and C.T. Scan areas.
Assists technologists in delivering care to patients. Assists technologists with identification of films.
Ensures that all patients are properly dressed for exams.
Practices safety to protect the patient, self, hospital property and equipment.
Other duties as assigned by superiors.
