About The Position

The Imaging Support Specialist at Fairview Hospital is responsible for greeting all patients and visitors with professionalism and a friendly demeanor. The role involves accurately registering patients and ensuring their accounts are up to date. The specialist will verify that the orders match the scheduled exams and address any discrepancies. Responsibilities include printing CDs requested by patients, physicians, other healthcare facilities, and lawyers, as well as answering phones and collecting copays when applicable. The position requires full and/or quick registration of patients for all radiology procedures and scheduling same-day and advanced radiology appointments with the appropriate clinical history. The specialist will run reports and statistics as needed by the Operations Manager or Director and maintain a satisfactory relationship between the radiology department and its clients. Additionally, the role involves assisting with inquiries and directing calls to the appropriate areas within radiology, using an overhead paging system to triage calls from providers or outside calls to staff members.

Requirements

  • 1 year of computer experience required.
  • Full and express registration training.
  • Receptionist and advanced scheduling experience preferred.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and public interaction skills.
  • 1 year experience in a medical office or hospital environment preferred.
  • High school diploma required; medical terminology knowledge preferred.
  • CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Meditech preferred but can be trained.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Good spelling, reading, and writing skills.
