The Pediatric Imaging Supervisor has 24-hour responsibility for The Childrens Hospital at Erlanger and Childrens OP (CHOC) imaging departments, which includes accountability for the quality of patient care, the performance of the technical staff, the management of the budget, and the orientation, education, and development of the staff, and physician relationships. Under the direction of the Radiology Director, directs and coordinates the range of services of the Childrens Radiology and Childrens OP (CHOC) Imaging Departments. This position requires independent judgment and initiative in utilization of traditional, computerized, and digital radiographic equipment to create high quality diagnostic images. This position requires extensive communication with Radiologists. The Pediatric Imaging Supervisor has 24-hour responsibility for Childrens Hospital at Erlanger and CHOC Imaging, which includes the quality of patient care, the performance of the technical staff, management of the budget and orientation, education, and development of the staff. This position is responsible for leadership of their section as follows: - Integration of Pediatric Imaging Section(s) into the organizations primary function. - Coordination and integration of interdepartmental and intradepartmental services. - Recommendations and input into the development of guidelines and procedures descriptions, which guide and support the provision of services. - Scheduling a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons for each shift to provide services/care. - Determination of the qualifications and competency of staff who provide patient care services at east. - Continuous assessment and improvement of performance of care and services provided. - Maintenance of Quality Control programs, as appropriate. - Orientation and continuing inservice education for staff. - Recommendations for space and other resources as necessary. - Assists with budget creation, maintains budgets, works within budget constraints - Continuous assessment for DNV inspection and accreditation - Installation and monitoring or QA as necessary - Conducts Staff Meetings - Responsible for HR functions such as interviewing, hiring, discipline, etc. - Participates in development of staff - Perform a variety of diagnostic exams - Assist with invasive procedures using sterile techniques The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients seen in the Radiology Department. The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the units policies and procedures
