About The Position

Join Community Community Health Network as an Imaging Student Extern, an excellent opportunity for students currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program. This role is designed for X-ray students with a strong interest in CT, providing a chance to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment. The Imaging Student Extern will work under the direction of an Imaging Technologist, engaging in both direct and indirect patient care activities. This position offers a meaningful advancement opportunity in the field of radiologic technology.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computer systems supporting the Medical Imaging Department, including EMR and PACS
• Ability to establish and maintain a safe environment free of fall hazards
• Strong communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration

Responsibilities

• Assist technologist with preparing and screening patients for exams
• Position patients and perform exams as requested
• Document patient care activities
• Reinforce patient/family education
• Stock supplies and manage room turnover
• Transport and escort patients
• Collaborate with team members to perform additional services as directed
• Answer phone calls and monitor voicemail for the imaging department
• Transition patients between portable oxygen tanks and flow meters
• Instruct and assist patients with exam/procedure preparation
• Perform phlebotomy as needed
• Start and discontinue temporary IV access as required
• Perform eGFR POC testing
